ABOUT ME
Hello everyone, my name is Shanrequa Joe. I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I've been interested in artwork since I was small. I started getting into digital design in high school. My hobbies include archery, drawing, and playing with my dog.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be successful, independent, and happy when I grow up. Awhile ago I had a revelation that I wanted to make other people laugh.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My biggest weakness is working too hard on one project. I really want to make sure a project is as finished as it can be. My biggest strength is my ability to adapt and learn fast.

Mike Diva has influenced me since I saw his video for the band Mindless Self Indulgence. His editing style is unique and extraordinary. He continues to grow his editing techniques and his videos become more complex and diverse. I look up to Mike for a goal and a reason to keep moving forward.
I've watched Jim Henson's films since I was 6. I first watched his film The Labyrinth featuring David Bowie. My mom was the person to first introduce me into this world of fantasy. I later continued to watch his other fantasy movies and the Muppet's. His diverse style of thinking and various characters inspired me to never make my characters the same. He reminds me to step outside the box and nothing is impossible.
Xena has always been one of my main sources of influence through out my life. When I was growing up everyone started making powerful independent women. Xena was always someone that I looked up to. She was cunning, sly, powerful, and independent. The episodes of her show showed me that everything in life doesn't have to be powered through with muscles or looks. You can get though it with intelligence and tactics. She also wasn't always independent she relied on her friend to help her through her adventures. A lot of the time I forget I don't have to fight my battles alone. Family and friends are always there to help me.
I sometimes for get to be humble or loose my footing in life. I constantly remind myself of my culture and vaules we hold together. I have to walk the path of beauty to be successful in life. Always be humble.
David Bowie constantly influences me as a creator and designer. He always stepped out of his comfort zone and experimented with different styles in his clothing and music. He reminds me to always be unique and not to get too comfortable with one way. David Bowie always set his sights in the future. He was a head of his times and inspires me everyday.
